Denise Head opened the doors to Painted Elephant Yoga in 2014 to expose more people in the Visalia, California area to the physical and emotional benefits of yoga. The welcoming studio space in an old industrial garage became a safe haven for like-minded yogis to challenge their minds and bodies and grow as individuals and as a tribe. Ballet Barre, PiYo, Meditation, Yoga and Aerial Yoga introduced a variety of strong yoga practices to Denise’s students. The space also hosted community events: Brews and Bros, Artist of the Month, Acro Yoga, Crossfit meets Aerial, philanthropic events and more. Denise believes in the power of community, and it was community that made Painted Elephant Yoga such a powerful space.

In 2015, Denise and her husband decided to take on new adventures and new jobs in Denver, Colorado. It was difficult to say goodbye to friends and her Crossfit and yoga tribe, but Denise’s heart was longing for Denver. Rather than continue to run a studio from a distance, she decided it was best left within the community and sold the space to its new owner. After all, community was what made it so strong.

It’s 2016 and Denise is now planted in Denver, ready for new adventures and excited to join and lead a new tribe of yogis in aerial yoga, yoga and whatever else the future may bring.
